Brooke Pfeiffer and Erin Nutt have worked side by side since 2017, developing a shared sense of purpose and a deep investment in the people they serve. For both of them, Migration wasn’t a leap. It was the obvious next step.
Their focus on the adult population began with a single client in 2018 and quickly became a calling. What they found was a population with enormous potential and almost nowhere to go. Migration has been an evolving dream since then.
It was built in the margins: on weekends, early mornings, and whenever time allowed alongside full-time positions at Bluebird Behavioral. From the first Google search on how to start a nonprofit on July 27, 2023, to signing a lease on their North Loop storefront in July 2026, every step, every learning curve, and every late night has been a meaningful part of creating something powerful and needed. What opens in spring 2027 is the result of years of work, learning, and building what they wished existed. They firmly believe this is the work they were meant to do and are excited to share it with their community. What begins in Austin is designed to travel. Brooke and Erin intend to prove this model works and replicate it in other cities, extending Migration’s impact far beyond Austin.
Brooke founded Bluebird Behavioral in 2015 after earning her Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in autism and applied behavior analysis from Texas State University in 2011. She has spent her career working across school, home, and community settings with autistic individuals of all ages. She believes that every person is capable of learning and growth, and that behavioral therapists have a deeply meaningful and unique ability to support that process. Outside of work, she can be found trail running, tending her garden, and keeping up with her twins and dogs.
Erin began her career in the autism field in 2015 and joined Bluebird Behavioral in 2017 as one of its first RBTs, eventually moving into the Practice Manager role. She has worked tirelessly with individuals of all ages, all abilities, and across all environments. Erin brings a genuine passion and commitment to building the relationships and skills that help people thrive. When she is not working, she enjoys playing pool, thrifting, and hanging out with her cat, Meatloaf.
Kristine is a dedicated advocate for the autism community and a parent with a deep personal connection to the mission of Migration. She brings passion, a firsthand perspective, and an intimate understanding of what meaningful inclusion and the right opportunities can make possible for autistic individuals.
